Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days but I've been in PAIN. They told me that I would experience pain on the left side of my belly for the next 3-4 weeks but doggone! Wasn't quite expecting this. The pain that I'm having trouble with is worse than the way I felt when I came home from the hospital. It's a burning, ripping like pain in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen (ya like that medical terminology huh), that I feel whenever I engage my ab muscles. Like getting up and down from a chair, in and out the car, bathroom breaks...and SNEEZING - OMG!!!
Called the Dr and he said that during the procedure they tear those abdominal muscles and it will take a few weeks for them to heal. A few weeks...exsqueeze me?!?!?
The best thing about today was that I had a special visitor who trumps all other visitors - MY MOMMY!
She came to care for me today so that I could take it easy. She cleaned up the house and got all my laundry done. She even got my clothes and washcloths and towels in reach so I don't have to bend anymore. And to top it all off she brought me soup broth! Gave me some taste so I was happy with that. She's the best.
I can't take credit away from my boyfriend though. He's been great too. He even delayed starting a new job just to be there for me. I needed him too...more than I'd like to admit. He has been there for me through this whole process and I thank God for him. I know I don't always show it but when you are used to having food and then you don't it takes a toll on you. So around the house my emotions are all across the board. I've been told it will get better. I do have something to look foward to this week...STAGE 2 of my diet - pureed foods. Sounds like mashed potatoes and applesauce will soon be my new best friends!
